When I watch television shows about cooking, I have to get into the kitchen myself. Tonight I made the mistake of starting the movie Julie and Julia at 8:55 (just before my bedtime). The movie is wonderful, but, like all cooking movies, forced me into the kitchen to find the necessary ingredients for a new masterpiece.
Just as cooking itself is caused–in addition to many other things, being awake for instance–by watching cooking shows, cooking macaroni is caused by missing my friend Peter. Fortunately, there was a box of macaroni in the drawer. Sadly, it was not Laura Lynn.
No ordinary macaroni satisfies the need for creative design, though. After rifling through the rest of my dwindling food supplies, the following recipe is what I came up with. It is quick, easy, and, best of all, cheap. Try it out next time you need a meal!
Ingredients:
- One box Macaroni and Cheese (any brand will do)
- One can Stewed Italian Tomatoes
- Parmesan Cheese
- Onion Powder
- Garlic Powder
- Black Pepper
Instructions:
(1) Boil the noodles from the Macaroni box as per the boxed instructions.
(2) Drain.
(3) Stir in the Stewed Tomatoes (do not drain).
(4) Add Parmesan Cheese, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Black Pepper, and Cheese packet from box.
(5) Stir all together.
(6) Enjoy!
Variation:
Though I have not personally tried this, adding grilled salmon or chicken to this recipe could be delicious!
